The dmexco Digital Marketing Exposition & Conference is one of our largest events of the year. The expo and conference took place last week, September 14 – 15, and played host to more than 880 exhibitors and 43,000 attendees.
Many of our guests were quick to notice this bold statement on our booth’s wall. What does it mean, exactly? Our goal for dmexco this year was to fuel an already heated discussion about the future of the ad tech industry. CTO Manny Puentes wrote for AdExchanger earlier this year on, “The End of the SSP Era,” citing publisher’s increasing desires for a cheaper, more direct and efficient method of transacting media online. We have driven innovation past the limitations of the traditional supply-side platform—Altitude ARENA® is a true Programmatic Video Platform for publishers and marks the beginning of the end for the SSP.
At our booth, our team gave more than 75 platform demos. We saw jaw after jaw drop once our guests spent some time with our staff exploring the robust capabilities of ARENA. After all, they do say that seeing is believing. Interested in a walkthrough of the platform for yourself? Throughout these back-to-back meetings, we were kept well fueled by DoubleVerify’s espresso bar within our booth. As one of eight third-party partners integrated into the Altitude ARENA® Programmatic Video Platform, we were honored by the opportunity to host DV at dmexco this year.
Video Ad News
As their primary sponsor for dmexco this year, our booth also hosted a wide array of Video Ad News interviews with executives from around the world, including two of our own. CEO Jeremy Ostermiller gives advice to publishers in a quickly changing ad tech landscape:
Manny Puentes, our Chief Technology Officer, also spoke with Video Ad News on the controversial topic of header bidding, and how, in his opinion, it will cease to exist within just five years:
Ad Tech Oktoberfest
Next to the ARENA platform itself, the highlight of our time spent in Cologne just may have been Ad Tech Oktoberfest, a private, VIP networking event co-hosted by RhythmOne. The cocktail party attracted more than 370 visitors throughout the night who enjoyed drinks, appetizers, music and custom-branded beer steins as a gift.
