Joe Grover

Joe Grover

Chief Executive Officer

Joe Grover, Chief Executive Officer at Altitude Digital, leads strategic planning and product vision. He brings a unique blend of advertising, private equity and technology startup experience. Prior to his appointment as CEO, Grover was the company’s chief marketing officer for the past three years. Grover formerly worked at Mercato Partners, a top performing private equity firm. Preceding Mercato Partners, Grover was the founder and CEO of a creative services company where he led marketing and communication campaigns for Fortune 1000 companies nationwide. He was involved in Junto Partners, an entrepreneurship accelerator, where he worked on the launch of several startups. Later, Grover became the director of Junto Partners program where he recruited, trained and mentored entrepreneurs. He is currently an adjunct professor of finance and management at the University of Utah. Grover completed a B.S. in Business Entrepreneurship at the University of Utah David Eccles School of Business and a Master Degree in Business Administration from Westminster College. He loves college football, skiing and spending time with his large family.


Brad Downes

Chief Financial Officer

As Chief Financial Officer for Altitude Digital, Brad Downes oversees the company’s finance and accounting functions, ensuring that the company maintains performance while continuing to develop industry-leading technology to provide greater efficiency and smarter inventory management and monetization for publishers. Prior to joining Altitude Digital, Brad spent several years in a variety of lead financial roles at the internet commerce giant Groupon, including Vice President of Finance. A 10-year veteran in finance, accounting, treasury and investment, Brad brings expertise in scaling, growth and acquisitions as well as strong, dynamic management to Altitude’s accounting team. Outside of work, Brad enjoys traveling the world and being outdoors as much as possible. He and his family also love exploring restaurants and farmers’ markets for new food experiences. Originally from Iowa and having moved around, he is a die-hard Hawkeyes fan and supports all Chicago sports teams. His wife is convinced that he’ll soon become a Broncos fan too.


Frankie Cervantes

VP of Marketing

As VP of Marketing, Frankie is responsible for all activities related to conceptualizing and implementing market strategy and achieving marketing targets. Specific responsibilities include managing all logistics of events hosted and/or sponsored, business and market development; market research and planning; strategic direction for promotion and advertising; coordination with sales; overseeing creative projects and day-to-day operations of the marketing team. Prior to joining Altitude Digital, Frankie founded Frankly Communications, a PR & Marketing agency focused on brand identity and digital marketing. She studied political communication/pre-law at the University of Denver and holds a B.S. in Communication and a B.S. in Japanese from the University of Utah.


Max Gideon

VP of Demand Services

Max leads Altitude Digital’s advertiser services team and brings over 8 years of ad network experience, and impressively enough, was one of the first people to partake in an ad exchange. His expertise spans from knowledge of the industry on all levels, from ad serving all the way to ad network operations and the overall ad ecosystem. Max came to us from Zynga, where he was responsible for ad network sales and advertising relationships. His deep understanding of advertising and tenacious attitude to get things done drives Max to always be learning and striving to be the best in the space. He holds a B.A. in Communications from the University of Colorado at Boulder.


Ryan Gombeski

VP of Demand Sales

Ryan Gombeski, VP of Demand Sales, started with the company when it first launched. From employee No.4 seven years ago to his current role, he has led successful business development teams. He provides guidance and manages the day-to-day operations with the demand sales team, and is responsible for navigating strategic partnerships. His positive energy and personable approach to forming and maintaining business relationships is essential to the company’s advertiser partnership success. The company’s RTB, private exchange and tag-based partnerships has seen incredible growth with his leadership. Prior to joining the company, Ryan helped to launch Living Social to the Colorado market. Previously, he worked at Crocs where he focused on business development. Ryan holds a B.S. in Business from the University of Texas at Austin.


Emily Hollerbach

VP of Ad Operations

As the VP of Ad Operations, Emily manages three sub-departments: business operations, policy and trafficking. Her job is to create bulletproof interdepartmental processes that set everyone up for success. With more than 10 years of digital advertising experience, she is passionate about imparting her ops wisdom, creating a cohesive team that is able to guide our employees and clients through solving the difficult issues that arise in everyday ad serving and ensure our technology is being utilized to its fullest potential. Emily previously held leadership roles at Turn and Universal McCann prior to joining the company. Outside of work, Emily enjoys traveling the world to explore new and exciting places with her friends and family.


Bill Marcum

Sr. VP of Engineering

As Sr. Vice President of Engineering, Bill Marcum leads the product development and engineering technology team at Altitude Digital. He has more than 25 years of experience in software and web conferencing industries, and brings a rich understanding of ad tech. Bill has a track record of building successful and reliable large scale networks. Prior to joining the company, he led the buildout of one of the largest real-time advertising, bidding and delivery infrastructures online, which scaled above 3 billion ad requests daily. He has led engineering teams at sovrn, Federated Media Publishing/Lijit Networks, Raindance Communications and more. Bill has a B.S. in computer science from the University of Florida.


Trent Wahlfeldt

As the VP of Publisher Services, Trent provides leadership and guidance in the day-to-day operations of the client services department. He manages a team of managers and directors who enable client satisfaction, success and retention. Trent has held leadership and client success roles at the company for nearly five years. Prior to joining Altitude, Trent worked in radio promotions at Clear Channel Communications and Capitol Records in New York City. He holds a B.A. in Communication from Colorado State University.

Vijay R. Bangaru has been Chief Executive Officer and President at Splick-it since July 2013. Mr. Bangaru served as Vice President of Product Management at MapQuest, Inc. since April 22, 2011. Vijay drove innovation around mapping and location-based services, an area of large growth for MapQuest. In addition, he was responsible for the overall user experience on MapQuest consumer products, including mobile applications, developer tools and services, and delivering key features that drive engagement, delight users and meet business customer needs. At Google Docs and Google Apps, he was responsible for all aspects of product development from vision, feature specification, user interface design, and technical design to partner relations and acquisitions. He served as Program Manager at Microsoft, where he worked on the WinFS project and strategy for the SQL Server, and software development engineer at Xilinx.

Vijay graduated summa cum laude from Washington University in St. Louis, Mo., with a bachelor’s of science in both computer engineering and electrical engineering.

Toby Gabriner has served as both President and CEO of Adap.tv, named the fastest growing video technology company in Silicon Valley by Inc. Magazine, which was acquired by AOL in late 2013. Toby began his distinguished digital career at Freestyle Interactive in 1999, where he successfully grew the company by over 500% and architected its sale to Carat Interactive–one of the largest media companies in the world. In 2003 he became President of Carat Interactive, pioneering cross-platform planning, buying and measurement technology. In 2005, Toby was recruited to be the CEO of [x+1], the first Demand Side Platform (DSP) focused on providing programmatic technology to agencies and advertisers, which was recently acquired by RocketFuel. In 2008, Toby joined Tribal Fusion as President and was responsible for sales, strategy, international expansion, as well as mobile and video product innovations. In December 2009, Toby was recruited to become President (and later CEO) of Adap.tv. Under Toby’s leadership, Adap.tv revenue grew from $200k in 2009 to over $200MM four years later. Toby was also part of the leadership team that raised Adap.tv's $20MM series C round. He now serves on the Board of Directors for Altitude Digital, and is CEO of Magnifi, the world’s first interactive music service.

Brian Kane

Mr. Brian Kane most recently served as Chief Operating Officer of LiveRail. He joined Altitude Digital as a strategic advisor and board member in the fall of 2014. Mr. Kane served as Chief Operating Officer of AdMeld, Inc and also served as its Executive Vice President Of Operations and Vice President of Operations. Mr. Kane joined AdMeld from Google, where he served as Director of Publisher Services. He had joined DoubleClick in 1999, where prior to the Google acquisition, he led teams in a wide range of service areas, including Technical Support, Client Implementation, Training and Strategic Consulting. At DoubleClick, he was a Vice President and leader of a wide variety of services teams for close to a decade. Before that, Mr. Kane served as a Manager on the Technical Services team at Bloomberg Financial Markets.

Jeremy Ostermiller founded Altitude Digital in 2009. While leading the company as chief executive officer from its inception to 2016, Jeremy made a footprint as a top leader in advertising technology. Along with numerous company accolades, the Denver Business Journal named Ostermiller to the ‘Forty Under 40′ of top young leaders and business professionals. He has been recognized for his leadership and commitment to community involvement by other prestigious organizations. Jeremy was also a finalist for the prestigious EY Entrepreneur Of The Year™ Award in 2013 and 2014, and was honored as a winner in 2015. He was also a finalist for CEO of the Year by ColoradoBiz Magazine and selected as one of the Top 25 Most Influential Young Professional in 2016. Ostermiller is the winner of the APEX Entrepreneur of the Year awards. He proudly combines his love of music and true passion for organizations that benefit young people. Ostermiller graduated from Colorado State University with a B.A. in Technical Journalism with a business emphasis.


Alison Wistner

Alison Wistner is a Managing Director at Mercato Partners and is a member of the investment committee where she is involved on the boards of Altitude Digital, Central Logic, Cymphonix and Ingram Medical. Alison’s experience spans private equity, corporate finance and investment banking. Prior to Mercato Partners, Alison was a Principal at Prospector Equity Capital (PEC), a private equity firm based in Park City, Utah. At PEC, Alison served on the investment committee and managed several portfolio investments. Alison was also the CFO of a portfolio company, Zane Benefits, a healthcare benefits administration technology company. Previously, Alison was a Vice President at Hunter Capital, focused on middle market investment banking transactions. Prior to joining Hunter Capital, Alison worked as a Financial Analyst for NationsBanc Montgomery Securities in mergers and acquisitions and corporate finance. She received honors as a Top 40 under forty by Utah Business Magazine and received the Trailblazer Award from the Women Tech Council. Alison serves as a board advisor to the Women Tech Council and a board member of the Rocky Mountain Venture Capital Association.

Alison received a B.S. in Business Finance from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. Alison was a collegiate diver at UNC and competitively races mountain bikes.
